how about a bee and/or spider fly (for panfish)...If I had to pick one hook to have in North America to catch a fish fast, it would have a bee pattern tied to it.

Welcome Desrat, I am sitting on a field trial and review of several dedicated survival fishing kits (freshwater and marine) It will be completed during an upcoming deepsea trip soon. The bee pattern is a good one, according to my many sources; and flies, royal coachmen, Orvil Reddenbacher popcorn, stale salami, red flannel cloth and........... ;O)

Dezrat,

I'm partial to the Dardevle spoons. I carry a very small one, a Skeeter if memory serves, as part of my mini-fishing kit. It's really just along for luck. It's the only lure I've ever had any success with (although, my deplorable fishing technique may account for that), near as I can remember, everytime I've used it, I've caught SOMETHING (a shoe, a turtle, eels, etc...once or twice, I've even caught a fish).

Take care,

Andy
