Wow, that's a suprising article from my hometown paper, the Houston Chronicle. Normally they are, uh, more politically correct, which may explain why their sales have plummeted.

The pocket knife came before the pocket. The inventor of the knife needed someplace to put the knife, thus the invention of the pocket.
