Unless I miss my insect anatomy, bees leave the stinger behind, yes? And wasps and hornets keep theirs?

If this is true, there was no stinger in this wound, so I figured it was a wasp (more common around here). Unless bumble bees don't leave their stinger...hmmm

Imagine having that job..."uh, yeah, I'm here to get stung by a bunch of bees..."
