Hikers Survive on hard candy and river water

"The Miami couple had planned to hike to a waterfall a couple of miles from the parking lot and have a picnic, but they lost the trail"

Notice the theme of the article! The couple survived on ' hard candy and river water' and ' the picnic basket was left in the car.' The couple survived because of moderate temperatures, available water and being found. That great placebo food had nothing to do with with it.

The local papers describe the couple as afflicted with a "mental disability."

In any case, the hike out to the waterfall at Stone Mountain is a short walk from the picnic area; so lots of folks walk out to the falls and come back to the picnic area to eat afterwards.

"Mental disability" is probably a euphanism for "stupid fools". People who drive a Mercedes Benz aren't usually in the mentally handicapped department... at least, not in the usual sense.

Thank god they didn't sue rescuers for carrying them out in non-MB vehicle. <img src="/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />
