I carry a small amount of olive oil in my kit ( about 50ml ) and have found it handy to use on sharpening stones and made a long burning oil lamp with it using a piece of wick obout 2 inces long. Works great and burns for hours. Has anyone tried it?

Yes Olive oil has to be one of the most healthful and useful products ever created by humans. You can even eat it!
If you go to minimus.com they have little single serving pouches; like ketchup comes in.
