Hello, I am new here , and I want to make a personal survival kit. A kit with military linked items in it, to be worn in the pocket of a combat uniform. A lot of pictures and info will be welcome. Thanks in advance.

Since you are a Belgian:
This is a dutch store that sells the combat survival kit and military survival tin. A good place to start.

Military items? You want to make a E&E (escape and evasion)kit?

On this site you'll find pouches that can be the container of you kit:

Welcome

Before you do anything look at the pocket survival kit reviews on this site and then follow the link to U.S. Rescue and read everything that they have to say very carefully. If it's a straight pocket survival kit you want then you could do a lot worse than buying a Ritter Survival pack, A fireball firestick and one of the new B.C.B. wiresaws from Outdoor Code (as you are in Europe). Repackage the whole lot into a tobacco tin or two. Throw in a couple of lighters and some purification tablets. You might also want to increase the size of the fishing kit.

you may find the information you are looking for at www.lightfighter.net. You need to register to read the forums, but it is free and there is an abundance of information avalible... Seach the forums in the "Equipment" Subsection espcially the First line and Second line sections. In the second line section read through the "Practical Load Out" sticky thread!

PM me if you have problems with finding what you need.

i don't see why you should have "military linked items" in a survival kit. The diffrence is usually just the color.

A surivival kit for millitary personel really isn't that diffrent from civilian. If you look at the BCB line, they are about the same. Just diffrent colors and names.

Instead of looking for "millitary" kit, look at your needs. Millitary personal have a few other requirement than civilian:
- Kit that are usually also ment for evasion, so less focus on equipment ment for survival on one place and more on getting out.
- A kit that usually quite ( no rattling and produced sound of the equipment)
- Minimal shiny kit, so you don't attract the enemy. (signal mirror excluded)
- Minimal bright colours that are more easily spotted.

Request for clarification of term, "military linked"?

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Do you mean that you are are about to be deployed overseas? If so, if you can say where without violating your operation security, it would help.

As a general rule, military survival equipment is just like what citizens use. It just costs more (milk that cash cow), might be colored differently (blaze orange is sooo subtle), and is generally packed for year after year of storage with little to no inspection (becuase bean counters say things like "didn't we just buy survival kits back in 1927?" <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ).

Doug has a list here that you might want to look at. And I'll PM you some things that I've suggest to friends prior to a deployment.
