I stumbled across this piece of gear while I was doing some other shopping at Cabelas.com. Looks interesting but I dont have any experience Brunton products other than their little button compasses which I consider more-or-less decent, but nothing to "write home about." Anyone tried one of these or at least willing to speak as an "authority" on Brunton products in general. It sure looks like something I would like to EDC if the quality is there.

Brunton makes the Helios lighter which is widely regarded as one of the best butane lighers made (and sells for over $50). So the brand is pretty solid.

Here's an interesting review that I found. It does appear that the lighter portion is A+ and the jury is still out on the LED portion. Of course this is only one review.

I don't own one, but I was rather intrigued by one and made a point of examining it up close last time I was at MEC (Canadian version of REI). I wasn't impressed.

The lighter portion might be okay, but it's tough to tell since there was no fuel in it. The flashlight portion is a joke. It feels like a shoddily constructed dollar store gizmo that's just waiting for an opportunity to fall apart.
