Ran across this online retailer that specializes in those teeny little packets of a variety of products (including some FAK stuff):

www.minimus.biz

Thought a few people might be interested. Don't know about the prices, but at the grocery store the other day I noticed that the price of a pack of 2 caplets of Tylenol, Advil, Benadryl, whatever, was a buck. Ouch.

My wife signed up with http://startsampling.com/ (IIRC thats the name) and after a couple years now we have a large bag of product samples we pack in our suitcase and take with us. If we do like one of the products and buy a regular size I've found a lot of the small travel sizes can be refilled.
I forgot to mention that if your having a baby or know someone who is sign up at places like huggies and pampers and they send all kinds of samples. We built our travel/bug out bag for our newborn son from those. We received several cans of formula, which I keep with bottled water if something would happen to my wife and we would have to give him formula.
I registered my own domain name so I can make up as many e-mail alias' as needed for when signing up for things I can make a new alias for each and tell who is selling the name.

Do you get a lot of spam from that site? I suppose if you give them your info, and third parties send it, it's technically not spam, but point being, do you get a lot of contacts from that site?

I'd be all for trying samples, but I'm concerned about computer security I guess...

I've ordered from them several times and every order has gone smoothly. My EDC contains a number of items purchased there and I've been a very satisfied customer. (I have no relationship with the site's owners, and in fact, I have no idea who they are.)

Surprisingly no, I signed up with a separate alias but haven't gotten much mail on it at all. Of course we have to use the home mailing address to get the stuff, but we abbreviated her name so you can't gather a lot of info from it.

Its funny, Stargazer, you have "new member" and more then a hundred and fifty posts by your name!

Just wanted to make the folks here aware that our site has a similar service, perhaps in a different package. (Hate to toot my own horn, but here it is.)

Small packages of: wound and burn care, tablets, outdoor and miscellaneous
(Hope I didn't offend anyone by this)

Also please see our ad in the marketplace forum

Well, I for one am not offended. I've been looking for economical way to replace supplies in my FAKs that are past their shelf life. When one has to buy a box of this, box of that, just to get a few pieces from each, the price tag goes up in a hurrry.
