Another vote for the Fisher Bullet. I keep it in a pouch that I carry every day along with a Rite in the Rain pad. Worked great when my wife ran into an old friend at a rainy concert and they wanted to exchange contact info!

I also like the Dr. Grip pens, because I find they are comfortable to write with. I prefer the gel ink. The refills for those are interchangeable with the Pilot G2 pens as well, so I can buy one set of refills for two different pens.

The Bullet is a great pen...I'm really not happy that I lost the burgundy colored one my wife got me...defective pants pockets, and if fell out the hole! Anyhow, I do not recommend answering essay exams with the Bullet...I've done it a few times, and I almost got carpal tunnel from it!

Google "titanium pen" and you'll find some pens that are all ti, and take Parker refills...and cost between $500-$700! <img src="/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

Both of these are reasons that I would go for the Inka. First, it can attach to your keychain. Second, if you are going to use it for long periods of time, you can make it longer.

Just my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I have a stylus plus and no longer have a PDA so I replaced the stylus with another pen refill, its been good, but the refills are standard ball point pen so the writing quality ins't the greatest, thats what I want in a pen now so I've settled for carrying the rollerballs.

Another vote for the Fisher Space Pen. (Black) Chrome is too flashy for me. I've had it for a few months now and it's the best pen I've ever used. I got tired of crappy pens around the office. (They only order cheap crap.)

I like the Fisher's writing quality, but I’m on my third one, because the clip keeps sliding off, which I eventually lose. I even had it in a wallet designed with a small pen holder, but the leather stretched to the point the pen wouldn't be held tight. Then, within another two weeks, I lose the pen itself. Lost my thrid one yesterday on my day trip to NYC, probably when getting my ID out of my wallet to show TSA.

Any thoughts on how to keep the clip attached? I even tried superglue, but it didn't hold.

The Inka looks like a good alternative, from a retention point of view.

What is the difference between the Fisher pen and the pens that Rite in the Rain sells?

Malpaso,

I had a Rite-in-the-Rain pen. It did not work near a well as the Space Pen. I took some Rite-in-the-Rain paper and put it in the bathroom sink. I turned on the water and put the paper under the water flow. I then tried different pens to see how it would work. Only the Space Pen would write on the paper and not smear. The Rite-in-the-Rain pen did not write clearly with the water running. This seems like a worse case situation of being in the rain and needing to write a note.

Gaffers tape and orange marking tape also work well for leaving messages. The marking tape is the hardest to write on because it does not have its own hard surface to write on.
