firestarting with batteries - the internal resistance of the wire creates heat

twist three or more strands together, fold double and twist again, as a very crude and slow, but potentiall effective, wire saw

lashing where I need small and strong cord

repairing gear - you need to be creative, if you can't be, you lose

shaving birch or cedar bark without doing much damage to the tree

attaching something sharp, like aircraft bits, to something that isn't, like cord, to make net anchors

repairing electronics if you are careful not to short anything

making anchors in a pole to craft a fishing rod

fish hooks and gaffs if it is stiff enough

fishing leaders - it takes a lot to bite through wire

antenna extension to improve reception of a tiny radio

I suppose if you were really hungry and too brave to contribute to the next generation, I suppose you could always wait in a tree and try to garrotte big game. Yeah, I know, it's close to snaring, but if you can pull that off with something like a grizzly or a razorback, my hat is off to you if you live. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
