Can nitrile gloves shrink in warm weather?

I've got glove-size 8.5 , is that medium or large?

Thanks.

That is interesting.....I wear a size 8-8.5 and it is extra large. I can get into the large ones but it is just that....I got into them.

Are gloves like shoes, with European and US sizing being different?

It would probably be best to try some on to check the size before you buy a box of them.

And they don't last forever. I just put on a new pair today. On one hand, the fingers were fine, but the "cuff" ended up by my elbow. Pity about all that bare skin between... <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I don't know if they shrink in heat (I don't know why they would), but maybe your hands could swell?

Something else to note about nitrile gloves, is in my experience, the tiniest puncture in one, will rend it right open. Latex gloves will hold together a little bit better.

Really? I never had that problem, but thanks for the note.
I really don't like latex gloves: They are fragile, won't store very well and I have to wash my hands every time because of that damn powder.
Maybe it's better that a glove tears more easely if there's a puncture.
That way you can see something is wrong more easely.

My absolute favourite: Blue nitrile, extended cuff, size 8.5, with gripp texture on the finger area.

I've worked in a tattoo shop, and that's what I've noticed and the others in the shop too. Who knows, maybe it's the brand we used. I only really ever do drawing anymore. I'm stil in there regularly, but never clean stuff or anything like that anymore. It's been a while since I was last in there.

Yeah it's better that the whole thing opens up like a zipper when there is a hole. Got a hole, clean up and reglove. Let's you know you've got a problem.

I usually carry some gloves in a survival kit. Even if I have nothing else to put on my hands, ie a decent pair of gloves, a pair of nitrile gloves will at least offer a modicum of protection from wind chill and retain at least some body heat. I just carry two pairs in case.

High Five's are a good Nitrile glove, and as for them ripping open I have had less nitrile rip then latex
As for the shrinking I would have to say that it is more hand swelling the anything. I try to keep a couple of pair in my car and have nevr had any problem with them and the heat or the cold
