First of all, I didn't chose it. It is listed in Doug's kit.<br><br>Second, I'll take a stab at an answer. I would guess that brass has a decent tensile strength, meaning it'll stretch befor it breaks. It would likely take a large animal to snap a snare. Brass would also resist corrosion.<br><br>Regarding stainless steel, I don't recall (with my limited experience) ever seeing a thin wire made of stainless steel.
