I bet you know those beach shelters that look like half tents and are used ......on the beach <img src="/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Would they make a good shelter for survival? They are wind/waterproof, have enough space to sleep in(1 person),easy to set up and you can make a fire in front of it, without coming out of the shelter.
I'm looking for some kind of ready-made shelter (don't want to improvise an lean-to shelter every time <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> ) but I can't carry a full-sized tent because of weight,bulk and costs-issues, so would this work?
