Hi guys,

I'm getting married in 2 months and I'm looking for 2 knives for my best men. One is a big city yuppy who'd likely prefer a lightweight trendy or hi-tech looking knife. The other is a rugged outdoors-type guy. He'd like a highly functional knife.

I'm looking to spend $100-$200 dollars.

Any ideas or sites I should check?

You could probably find a swiss army knife to suit both best men.

There are so many different styles to choose from finding a suitable gift or 2 for both guys shouldn't break your budget.

Not to mention some knives come with a spot just right for engraving.

Benchmade, Spyderco and Kershaw all make great knives that would fit the bill for both, and which would be easy to find at local shops as well as online.

If these are knife people allready get something that will fill a new niche. The famous Laguiole kinves of France are an elegant pocket knife and would match with a bottle of champagne from the reception. They are a little expensive for your budget, but for this special day I would get something a little more traditional with pretty cosmetics.

For the outdoor guy, I'd suggest a Benchmade minigrip; any model: Doug's, Cabela's or one of the basic Benchmades. I've got one of Doug's and one Cabela's. You can bring any of those in for right around $100.

And pick up a KaBar Dozier folding hunter for yourself just because. You won't believe what great knife that is for about $25.

For the city guy, the Spyderco Kopa (any of the handle variations) is a great looking knife. I think New Graham Knives has the Cocobolo handled one for about $112. The Spyderco Spur plain edge is a nice looking knife for around $65. I don't know that either are particularly light, but they are compact, well-built useful knives.

Here's a link to New Grahm:
http://www.newgraham.com/

Run down the maker's list on the left-hand side and click on Spyderco limited editions to see the Kopas and the Spur.

If you end up ordering from New Graham, you'll like 'em. Good folks.
