My wife and I are going to Disneyworld this summer with a group of her high school friends (total group = 4 40-something women, 2 40-something guys and 1 five year old girl).

Does anyone have any specific brand recommendations for sunscreen? I've got fair skin and was looking for 30 SPF.

Also, does anyone know if Disney permits patrons to carry a small Leatherman tool (Squirt S4)? I won't even try to carry my ChargeTi into the park.

I've got one word for ya...Bullfrog. I started using this stuff two years ago and I will never go back. It's alcohol based so you don't have greasy residue and it's waterproof! This stuff works great and I highly recommed it. You can pick it up at Wal-mart

I absolutely second the Bullfrog. It's the best I've found, and I've used in from jungle to ocean!
//that being said. I'd give the user a quick 30 min patch test to see if it causes problems: apply to a 2-3" square area (e.g. inside forearm) and wait 30". My wife has a skin reaction within that time. The only sunscreen she can use is a roof.

Take a small day pack with snacks, sunscreen, camera, etc. It beats trying to carry it all and you will need to re-apply the sunscreen later in the day. They asked me to open mine & looked in last time I was there & didn't say a thing about the selection of snacks. It was a small camera backpack (about 12 x 8 x 8 IIRC)

I have "very fair " skin and had a squamous-cell skin-cancer removed from my arm about two years ago. During my latest semiannual checkup my dermatologist recommended a new product and gave me a few coupons from the manufacturer. The product is Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 55. Neutrogina claims this product will block both harmful forms of ultraviolet radiation (UVA and UVB).

Perhaps the SPF factor is too high for your needs but I would think you can't go wrong with too-much protection -- especially in Florida in the summer.

Enjoy your vacation and be safe in the sun.
