Hi,

I'm going to buy a retractor to secure my Strider AR and hope to get some advice from you.

It should be attached to a one inch wide belt I'm wearing all the time around my waist under my clothes.
The knive will be clipped in my waistband.

The retractor's cord has to be long enough to extend to arms range for an emergency case of SD.

So far I've found these:

Gear Keeper
Cetacea Retractors
Key-Bak

There's also a lot of no name stuff.

Which are the best ? Thanks.

Are you absolutely committed to the idea of always wearing a belt under your clothing and tying a knife to it? ... even on a retractor system? I wonder if the risks and complications outweigh the possible benefit(s). I certainly don't like the idea for any self defense purposes. Perhaps loss-prevention in a survival situation... but anything you tie to yourself ought to "break away" under reasonable stress anyway: imagine the things you can be hanged from or anchored to in a survival situation if your knife/gear lanyard was too strong!
By the way: are the two small holes in the grips of the Stryder AR lanyard holes? They look kind of small for paracord. I didn't see any other lanyard holes when I looked at this knife on their web site.

You can use some breakaway hook to fix the knive to the cord.

The Strider AR has two holes on every side where you could mount the clip.
You have to tie the lanyard to the titanium spacers on the back of the knife. This works really well.

Gear Keeper

I believe the Cetacea are also made by Hammerhead who make the Gear Keepers.

I used to have a co-worker who carried a larg ring of keys on a key-bak until one day he was wrestling with a suspect and the kid grabbed the keys and threw them. The Key-Bak did it's job and returned the keys at full velocity to his groin, which put him out of the fight. I was laughing so hard I had trouble getting the suspect cuffed. As he (who will remain unnamed) wasn't seriously hurt it was funny, and the last time he ever carried his work keys that way.

I just don't fancy my knife comming back at me when it got knocked out of my hand. (for what its worth)

Take Care and stay safe

You could choose a retraction force that isn't strong enough to retract the knife without aid of your hand.
It would also be difficult to work with the knife if the retraction force is too high.

Also I am going to carry the retractor and the knife concealed.
