red_jeep Journeyman Registered: 01/22/02 Posts: 54 Loc: Raleigh, NC	Can anyone share some reliable online (or offline) sources for MIL-SPEC 550 parachute cord? I'm looking for the stuff with 7 inner strands. <br><br>Apparently www.actiongear.com has some (search for "550 Survival Cord"), but it says nothing about being "MIL-SPEC". Does 7 internal strands = MIL-SPEC?<br><br>The one place I found a while back with real MIL-SPEC numbers in their catalog (www.ammil.com) seems to have gone out of business, or at least their website is down. I think they only sold in 1000 yd spools, too much for me.

Looks like www.actiongear.com and www.majorsurplusnsurvival.com are both pretty good sources. I'll probably go with the former since they stock TrauMedic bandages and some other hard-to-find items.
