Waterproof Hand-Crank Radio/Cell-Phone Charger

What do you folks think? It looks decent for $59.95.

Why do they put "waterproof" in the title, but in the text, specify that it is "weather resistant"? *sigh*

Since it's an Eton and Hammacher Schlemer tends not to carry junk products, I think it should be a good radio to have.

Non-Equipped people would neither know nor care about the difference. We could lecture on it!

I prefer a radio that also picks up shortwave. Gundig makes a real nice crank emergency radio.

I was just browsing the Eton website. The radio we're talking about is the ARC (American Red Cross) FR400. It's twin, the ARC FR350, has shortwave instead of NOAA and TV-VHF but otherwise seems identical. So, name your poison--you can get either one in this nice package. Actually, this radio is starting to grow on me. I'd go with NOAA/TV myself, but that's just me.

the Eton /Grundig have reinforced plastic dynamo springs.
i like the Freeplay plus radio. steel dynamo spring ,solar panel , LED light. 2 shortwave bands, AM , FM.
a little pricy ,but if your looking for something that will last , I'd pick this one. (IMHO ) I have one and its GREAT
