Just wondering if anyone has any input on how to prevent the photon 2 in my kit from coming on. Sorry if it's been covered before, but hopefully some "light" can be shed on my problem. I have had two photons get drained-- one around my neck got wet (firefighting)- it was under my shirt-- one discharged because it went on unnoticed in my pants pocket (I put it there "temporarily").

9fingers,<br><br>I carry two Photon 2s everyday carry - red in left pants pocket and turquoise in right pocket. Neither has come on accidentally and I'm still on original batteries in both, even tho they see daily use.<br><br>Could the pants pocket incident be an accident, or have I just been lucky? There is plenty of other stuff in both my pockets, FWIW.<br><br>Tom

it's all in the packaging. I have a Photon II stuck into my PSK rather tightly. Getting it to pack down without something pressing on the button was some work but it turns out that thing is rather well designed to lay against any thing flat without being triggered. I simply placed the large safety clip accross the top of the switch side to make sure that nothing pressed the switch. As for it going on in the pocket, Is you pocket very tight? Do you carry a bunch of other heavy items in there? The temporary press for light switch might be triggered but I would assume that within a short time whatever was leaning in that direction would shift off and the problem would not amount to much of a drain. It is possible that you had the light switched on with the latch and stuck it into you pocket that way.

I carry two attached to my keyring. Never had a problem. I would call it a freak 'accident'. Since there is a ridge intentionally built in front of the light switch, you're playing with pretty fantastic odds that something could get between the switch and the ridge, and then activate the switch. I recommend that you buy two more and hope for the best.
