Gentlemen,
I am a Disabled Vet on a fixed income, so needless to say I have to work within a tight budget. This is where I need your expertise......I am looking for a Belt Carry Torch, preferably with a sheath, that's practical, and not too extravagant. Needless to say that living here in the DFW area, there are only three places to really go...Cabela's, Bass Pro Shop, and REI.....all of which I try to avoid like the Plaque!.....Any Suggestion's? Why do you avoid them? Just curious. We don't even have those here, mainly just Big5.
Any military surplus places around?

well you want a light than can be carried on your belt, right? Can you be a little more specific? - Does it need to be bright? - Do you want long run time? - What kinds of batteries do you prefer? - Whats your budget? - What size? - Do you want a simpel light which goes on/off or do you want something that has selectible brightless, SOS, strove, etc function? - Waterproof or water resistance? here is a great website with many reviews: http://www.flashlightreviews.com/Mine belt carry light is either a Fenix L1P or a Nuwai Q3. Which are reasonably bright, yet small and not to expensive. I prefer the Fenix, due to the battery type it uses, a more exsecutive style look and much better supplied sheath. Both are availible on the web.

I'm not sure what youur budget is, but I carry a Fenix http://www.fenixlight.com/. I feel like I got a big bang for my buck. It uses a single AA battery and has taken a beating. For what its worth, Biscuits

Hi Krell, When I was searching for a flashlight myself, I found a lot of great information on Flaslightreviews.com , for additional information, user opinions and user reviews try candlepowerforums.comThe following links discus some budged flashlight options: Flashlight for a College student and The poor flashaholics top 10?I ended up with the following lights: Keychain light: a Covert Photon Freedom MAX COVERT Photon Freedom MAX $15 Headlight: a Princeton Tec Quad $28 EDC: a Fenix L1, now availible with two levels of output as the Fenix L1t $43 The Fenix might sound a little high in price but is really worth saving for. It is very populair on many boards, it uses an aa battery, has an LED Bulb and a great beam shape. Hope this helps. Regards, B.

A Mini Mag-Lite® is cheap and practical. If you get a Nite-Ize headband you have a headlamp and torch for about 20 bucks! I know it's probably not the best but it's cheap, easy to find and practical, it comes with a nylon sheath, you can upgrade the bulb to LED later, it has O-rings (waterproof), stores an extra bulb inside, spare bulbs are widely available, it's a twist-on (with adjustable beam) flashlight so that it will not accidentaly turn on in a pack, it has a lanyard hole and comes in red color at Wal-Mart.

Actually the red mini maglite and a headband is available at REI for a total of about $16. And I would be happy to have a REI in Canada so I could buy the famous "magic matches".

I picked up eight of the Mag Light Solitaire lights for $3 each at Wally World. They had them on clearance for some reason. Cheap enough to have them stashed all over the place.

You may be able to start getting some really good deals on the old style Maglights, because they are going to be releasing the LED versions soon, if they aren't already out.
