Since nobody responded to my inquiry (sniff sniff), I would like to announce that I will be going to the Blade Show in Atlanta- tomorrow. Does anyone have any requests for what/ whom I should look for?

Andy,

If you care to, please ask a few questions of the Victorinox people at the show.

1. Are they going to add one hand opening holes to more of their big knives?

2. Why don't they include a small non-serrated blade on their big knives?

3. Do they offer a repair service, and if so, how do I get in contact with it?

That's it. Thanks. Have fun. Take care.

AndyC

Victorinox offers excellent repair services. Just go to their website. Andy, suggest inclusion of a metal match instead of the corkscrew. Why don't you make a report when you return?

Wow...as long as you are going to be there Andy, could you pick me up a Sebenza? Feel free to go as high as $20-25...ok...$30, but it has to be in MINT condition. And if that isn't possible, have a great time anyway....and....

Be careful out there...

Robb

<< Andy, suggest inclusion of a metal match instead of the corkscrew. >>

Arrrgh! Chris - what are you thinking!!! That's a very important tool for me - I quit drinking the screw top wines a long - no, wait - I never drank screw top wine... anyway, where would I put that nifty eyeglass screwdriver "replacement" part I bought a few months ago???

I could do without the awl - how about an awl-corkscrew combo instead?

The metal match - how about something expedient in the slot where the toothpick goes? A steel backing (in case of fracture) and a rectangular X-section in generally that location could work...

How about a removable "blade" - a diamond dust 2-grit sharpener? Even a small one...

Tom

I think it was Bladeforums, but I remember reading that someone had emailed them about a flint rod in the toothpick slot, and they had already considered and prototyped a few things they decided against it. I would like a flint rod, removable diamond sharpener, and a powerful led light on something like the Rucksack or the Workchamp.
