1) Know when to get out of Dodge. 2) Know how to get out of Dodge. Biggest problems you will have are a) Breaking contact. b) making the bad guys decide that following you is not worth the candle. The bad guys have the advantage of local knowledge & have already decided what they are going to do. So you need to hurt them badly enough to make them very wary about following you. Trip wire and cable tidy's for improvised traps would be a good start. I would prefer a grenade or three. Or a claymore mine. Sadly however they ain't generally an option. Pity that.....
