I'm looking to get some ECWCS pants, and I'm seeing HYVAT and GoreTex. What is the difference? I've got an ECWCS parks, and all it says is nylon shell and nylon/cotton lining.

Biggest difference seems to be price! I would think the HYVAT trousers would be more than adequate to keep the legs dry. I sure wish someone made this stuff in OD instead of camo! Only maker I know is Norrona in Europe and the price is way too much for me! Hope that helps anyways Cheers!
