I don't know what else to call this- it spends most of it's time on a shoulder sling for my bag of tricks, or my dispatch bag, with the clips snapped onto a small d-ring, hanging on a hook. If I'm traveling, it gets looped over the passanger seat of my car, or clipped to a bag.


It is the removable waist pack of an HSGI tactical vest. I bought it cheap- the vest was missing. It has the two obvious pockets, and long tunnel pocket that runs the length of the pack.

In the sleeve pocket, I carry:
1x 35 gallon heavy weight garbage bag
1x 25' paracord
4x 12' paracord


And this is it with the main pockets open. They carry:
1x 500ml polycarbonate bottle, full and vaccume sealed
2x small ranger bands around bottle
pocket survival kit (psk)
pocket medical kit (pmk)
pocket survival kit (auxilary items) (psk-x)
pocket ration kit (prk) (optionally)

The PSK is the front-top tin, the PMK front-bottom, so they can be grabbed easily and quickly if I need to shuck the rest of this. The PSK-X is the back-bottom, and the PRK us the back-top.

There is also a 18"x3/8" webbing strap which is snugged between the two pockets to form another belt-loop type space. With a side release buckle and a triglide, it stays there, and makes a nice compression strap if needed. Handy for all kinds of things, really.

This can be attached to a belt, if more appropriate, or slipped inside of a ruck.

I've contemplated replacing this flat water bottle with a similiarly sized, mini Nalgene, but I have yet to find a good can to use as a pot with the round bottle- they start to rust within 24 hours of me removing the inner coating. If I do this, I'll add a pair of curved tip hemostats as a pot grabber, and probably a trimmed paintball tube with a vial each of repacked potable aqua, PA+ neutraliser, and immodium. The flat bottle has the advantage of riding a little better, but the round one will give me greater abilities.
