Good point...to be honest it wasn't my FIRST, first fire. Dad taught me how to burn leaves and garbage when I was growing up, but it always involved matches, or a Bic and some sort of accelerant. It was a good lesson for me in what Doug and the others were saying in the "Prepared to Survive" DVD...practice BEFORE you need the skills (I think Nicodemus has that as part of his sig.) It took me several tries to get it to work, because the pressure on the Magfire wasn't quite right, or the angle of the striker wasn't good. Next I'll be working on securing paracord between my clothesline posts to practice ridgelines <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
Because as I tell the kids at tae kwon do class, "If you can't do it forewards and backwards while you're asleep, then you don't know it well enough!"
