Sorry, another off-topic post on the Equipped to Cook forum ( <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> ), but from the distinctive handle, isn't that a Global...looks like a knife "steel" or sharpener in the top slot? At my wife's request, I bought her a set of Global knives as a birthday present and she loves them. I have never seen a "steel" (or is it actually ceramic) by them, so that's interesting.
I tend to mostly use a Japanese waterstone (1000), but sometimes do a bit of touch up with the ceramic. I don't use a steel. I also have a diamond "steel" in my drawer if something is really out of wack, but it too agressive for normal use.
Note, the ceramic is OK to keep things under control, but you can't really do any signifiant shapening wth it.
