Yes one on my backpack strap in Petzl pouch and one on my duty belt. Amazing tools. Wont replace a good flaslhight but for working in dim environment it is a great piece of equipment.

Kind of....its a mini mag AA with the nite eze LED conversion and it is in a band that goes around your head. It puts the light off to my right (or left if I choose). I find it works well for me. I'm still thinking of getting a dedicated headlamp.

Yep, a Zipka in my bug-out bag and a Zipka+ in my not-quite EDC waist pack. Headlamps are hugely better than hand-held when you need to, eg, cook or change a tyre, in the dark.

(Although a cap with a photon clipped on counts as a headlamp.)

I like the nite ize headstap for this purpose. It is a little bulkier than some, but it handles a lot of different sizes. Mine is currently elsewhere, I need to replace it. It should work with the gerber infinity.

I've got a modified (new 17mm reflector) Princeton Tec EOS in my kit.

Got a couple of Dorcy headlamps at Sears for $9.99 each for the BOBs. The Tikka Plus seems to be the standard. I found one at an REI sale and like it. BTW, I asked Petzl about about a replacement lens and they sent me one free, great cutomer service.

A Princeton Tech Apex and Petzl Myo XP depending on if I want lighter weight or brighter/waterproof.

A Zipka+ always rides along in any pack I take when hiking, whether that be a minimal hydration pack for a quick dayhike or a larger rucksack/backpack.

But no headlamps for around town EDC. I keep an ARC AAA on my keychain all the time (for when I don't expect to need a light, but end up needing one). If I predict a potential need for a light, I drop one of those Target "Rock River 2-AAA 0.5W's" in my pocket. If I know I'll need a light with some throw to it, it's either a TEC-40 or a 3 or 4 D cell Maglight.

Outside of the urban environment, I don't think you can beat a headlamp. Nothing comes close in convenience when camping, hiking, fishing, etc. I normally don't ride my bike after dark, but if I think there's any chance I might get caught out after dark, that Zipka+ goes with me.

My headlamp that gets the most use? That would be the Aurora I use when working on computers. Can't beat the tilt adjustability and stability of that model. The headband is too big for carrying around when hiking though, ... thus the Zipka+. I also have a Tikka, but I do not like that one. The batteries always seem to pop up slightly from their proper positions, making contact intermittant. Causing flickering, dimness, etc. My Tikka sits unused. My Zipka+ never shows this battery problem of it's sibling. The Zipka+ always works perfectly.

I don't care for dedicated headlamps. I prefer the headstraps like the Nite-Ize mentioned above. Instead of the Nite-Ize, I have the Jakstrap which I use with my Princeton Tec Attitude. You can also get the Jakstrap II for larger flashlights. The nice thing about the Jakstrap is that it has two elastic holders, one positioned straight-ahead and one positioned about 45 degrees down; the former is good for walking and the latter is good for reading. The Jakstrap is very comfortable and lightweight. The name is pretty crass, though.

In my Camelbak I replaced my Petzl Zipka Plus with a Petzl Tikka XP. For EDC I have a AA Infinity Ultra (25 hours - full brightness) with a clip in my pocket. I can clip it to the brim of my cap and use it like a headlamp. If I need real throw/distance I use my SureFire C2 that I keep clipped to my belt. <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Tikka XP. or Tikka plus depending on circumstances. Light, reliable and dialable power setting. Myo megabelt if cold is an issue. Petzl are much better than anyone else, but any headtorch is better than nothing. One point I will make is than you should never travel at night (unless you know the ground or are on hardstanding), unless of course staying put will get you injured or killed.
