My local Walmart has the Leatherman Kick on the clearance rack in sporting goods for $9. Yes, that's nine dollars! They had a couple dozen there, so I depleted their inventory by a couple. One for me, one for my truck, one for BOB...YMMV in your area.

BTW - I'm not affiliated with Walmart or Leatherman in any way

My Wal-Mart had them for $17 a week or two ago, and I passed. But for $9, I might just have to pop in.

Thanks for the heads up. Not exactly my favorite multi, but would be handy to have a few quality ones as backups in vehicles and BOBs, etc.

AHHH! I was just there and didn't even look! Now I got to get there before they are gone. I like my Gerber multiplier but I have been looking for a chance to try a Leatherman. This would work good.

I picked one up over the weekend for $9. Not bad. For a leatherman it is rather minimalist, but you can't complain about the quality.

I found it next to the fishing gear.

I agree, it's certainly no Wave/Charge. But my wife is picking up 2 of these (backups for the car) as I type this. I figure I can't pass up the $9. I'll probably end up getting a 3rd just for kicks (no pun intended). Plus at this price, they make a decent present for those who may not think about being prepared.

Oh, and I used to use the Gerber line and have since switched once I got a LM New Wave. I found the easy tool accessability, quiet operation, ease of closure (pliers and tools), comfortable grip and quality build to be exceptional. I still have my Gerbers, but as backups, they are no longer EDC.

Couple this with the ETS PSP and a decent pocket shelter like the new stretchy Bivvy/Blanket Doug Ritter mentioned and you have a pretty reasonable cost emergency carry. Worst case, ~$50!

The ones in the counter are regular price. The $9 ones are on the side, like a discount aisle. That's where they were at my local wallys

Confirmed. Same situation here in Rochester, NY. I couldn't immediately find them, but when I asked a blue-vest she pointed me right to them. They had them somewhat out of sight on the bottom of a shelf. I bought 4, I couldn't pass up the $9 price!

None on sale at my local wally world. I talked to a clerk that said it was a clearance to get rid of the Christmas stock. The wave that is sold over the holidays has different packaging. When that packaging style is sold out, the standard packaged Kick is still available at full price.

I was in Gilroy yesterday and one of the "camping section" employees told me the best time to find great deals at Wal-Mart is mid January and February. He said the closer it gets to February the cheaper the seasonal stuff gets. By March they are just trying to get rid of the stuff.

I found one! 5 actually. I went to 2 different stores out of 4. When I went back to one I already checked, I thought I would look around again. Low and behold there it was behind the counter on the bottom shelf. The person I talked to a couple days prior didn't know about them. Good thing I checked again
I was also looking for a red shelf tag and this has the standard yellow.

Walmarts on the northwest side of Houston have the Leatherman Kick priced down to $5.00. There are 4-5 left at the Walmart on FM2920. Look over by the BB guns.
