I can only hope the cigarette was menthol, or a really strong Player's Navy Cut! I've recently discovered the alleged difficult to ignite BCB match WILL strike on a standard matchstrike surface. It does have to be on a firm surface. I think practice is the key, with expense inhibiting any.

In some households, throwing a lite match in a toilet is akin to playing Russian Roulette! ;-)

if you're house is on a septic tank for sewage disposal then it is likely that there is quite a bit of methane at the top of that tank. A storm match that reaches the tank lit and floats to the top could cause some strong back pressure on the plumbing at least.

Just a slight attempt at humor, referring to the vapors that may be congregating above the surface before the match hits the water.

It was a joke, or so I took it (e.g. flatulence)... hang around a whole bunch of boys who have been eating their own cooking for a couple of days (scouts) and see what sorts of hilarity they come up with - gotta think like a 12 year old...

Doe's anyone else see a huge irony in using a "survival" match to light a cigarette?

Robb

At a recent campout, I was told quite seriously by one scout that a former member of the troop killed gophers that had the misfortune to leave a tunnel openings under his tent, all by means of his nighttime gaseous emissions. He was reputed as truly an awesome force to be reckonned with, especially if you were assigned to his tent.

John

ROTFLOL!

I swear I must have met his older brother this weekend! We were washing dishes in a rather large kitchen (30' x 80') when one fellow quietly spoke out a very understated warning. He was about 20' away at the time. I had my back turned while I was washing and didn't pay too much heed. My mistake! About 15 seconds later I had tears welling up in my eyes, and wasn' because of misplaced sentiment.
