If you have to light natural tinder, like wood shavings, the bigger ferro rods work much better. You also need to test your scrappers. A good scrapper is more important for making sparks than a particular ferro rod. My Mora knife (back or blade) does not work as well as the back of the saw on my Leatherman Ti. The handle on the MagFire is much larger than on the County Comm Metal Match. I'd go with the Metal Match for around the neck.
