What should a plane crash survivor do far from civilization? lets assume the survivor has modest injury with broken leg or arm, minor skin damages. Should the survivor move 300 ft away from plane to avoid fire from plane fuel?

I assume this is reasonable. Just pay attention not to wander too far off if rescue is on their way. Stay warm (gather a LOT of wood before starting a fire since you're injured), wait it out.

Plane crash victims are often found within a day or two unless the crash occured in a VERY remote location. We see reports on TV of small Cessna planes that crash in remote areas and the fuselage is spotted after a day or two, max. Assuming it crashed on solid ground...

Build a plane out of the spare parts and fly out of there!

If a plane is going to burn, it's going to do it in pretty short order. Immeadiately after the accident, yes get as far away as you can, If within 30 minutes to an hour things haven't made big pretty fireworks, it's usually pretty safe. if there is a fuel smell around the wreckage, obviously don't smoke or give the fuel a reason to ignite.

Airplanes are really well insulated, if pieces are big enough to use as shelteryou are in luck

No matter what, don't move real far away from the wreckage, as it is far more visable from the air than the human figure. Your best bet on rescue is the resuers finding the wreckage.

If fire were a potential danger, I would move an appropriate distance from the wreckage. I would also try to leave some sort of message or marker to direct rescuers to my location.

Of course, if this were a commercial plane, you wouldn't have anything with you to make a fire, and no knife!

Ah you can make fire without anything but your bare hands and the right natural materials (requiring some luck of course have the right materials available) and a TON of practice before you end up in that situation to begin with. Oh course if your arm/finger/hand is broken instead of a leg ... well then hopefully you're in a warm climate.

When I travel by plane I take some knife and fire making equipment in the check-in luggage. With good luck I could find my luggage.

Thanks.
