I am putting together another kit ( <img src="/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> )and wondering if/how the StarFlash needs to be protected. As it is, it will likely be abraded by rubbing against the cordura pouch and there is no way to put it anywhere else in the kit. Will the Lexan get so scratched so as to reduce the effectiveness of the mirror? Should I cover it with tape? If so, what kind as not to leave a nasty residue? Perhaps break down and fashion a small fabric or fleece sleeve?

I have covered mine with some of the plastic PDA screen protectors sold at office supply stores. Supposedly they are a lower-tack adhesive than packing tape, so hopefully less residue over time.

Those plastic credit card holder sleeves that come with wallets fit nicely. I cut off one of the sleeves and the Starflash fits inside.

Simply wrap it up with Glad Press N' Seal as if it was a piece of cheddar cheese you were putting back in the fridge. <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
