Please let me introduce myself: I am Jim,16 years old and I live in Holland (Europe)
When I was young ,about nine years, I found myself in a survival situation when I was on vacation in France. I went fishing alone and found myself lost in, well I didn't knew that at the time. It was somewhere! In my backpack I didn't had much useful equipment, exept my fishing stuff and the Goglan's survival kit. With that I was able to make a shelter, start a fire and got myself rescued the next day.
Well, I discovert that not every survival kit has the stuff I needed, so I made my own one and continued eversince.
Then I found this website with very good information and a forum, so here I am !

Welcome. At nine years old, you showed an amazing amount of common sense and intelligence. Thank you for sharing your story.

Hi Jim, welcome aboard. Pretty impressive for a 9yr. old and even a 16yr. old. And you have a nice going in the other thread.

Cheers
P.S. I wish I knew a second language as well as you appear to know English (only a smattering of Spanish and Japanese here...)

welcome!
At least you had the foresight to bring the kit along.
Just out of curiosity, which Coghlan's kit was it?

Welcome aboard, Jim!

You were very smart, and I'm glad you're around to tell your story. Thanks!

Knowing how I was at age 9, I myself probably would not have survived. Man, my cub scout experience was WEAK! <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
