I am looking for a fresh water bladder.

This summer Gloria and I will be living in the Maine woods a long way down a bumpy dirt road. We will have to transport our water. For the past several years I have used 5 gal NATO water bladders which are very tough, but quite heavy. They work well, but the handling of 5 of these is a bit of a chore. I would like just one big heavy duty bladder. I will probably fill the 5 others as a hedge against failure of the larger bladder.
I am looking for something about 40 to 60 gallons that is strong enough to be put into the bed of my pick-up and bounced down the dirt road for an hour or so. I would like the bladder to be intact when we arrive at the camper. This is not easy.
I have looked at the Aquatank 2 and find it lacking for my application. I don't think it will survive such rough treatment. I see several other brands available, but am looking for first hand experience with particular brands. Solid containers are not useful as I need to be able to roll the bladder up and get it out of the way when not in use.
Any suggestions based on experience?

I reread your post more thoroughly and so deleted my post regarding Aquatanks... Sorry about that! <img src="/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Check out Ben Meadows; they sell a number of Kolaps-a-tank products. They have a 73 gallon one and it is FDA approved for drinking water.

I wonder if a small (twin size) water bed would work? Some manufacturers make them very tough and with some form of frame and non abrasive liner it may work???

do you use rain capture? Some big tarps might save you some hauling...

Look around RV stores, like Camping World. They have a water bladder intended to sit on the top of a pickup to transport water from the source back to a RV and fill the RV's tank via gravity. I tried to find one at CW's website, but it is about the least user friendly site I can think of. I don't have my paper catalog handy or I would give you better info...

OK, checked all the above out and they are not rugged enough for my application. The Camping world one is about as thick as a kiddie swimming pool.

Guess I am spoiled by using the NATO bladders I have now. Just need more capacity. I have heard of several types being sold by West Marine. Headed for one of their stores today. I will report back in case anyone is interested.

Thanks for all the replies.
