I'm excited- this friday I'm touring the Leatherman Tool plant. Being into gadgets and tools (as most of you probably are), this should be cool!

So while I'm there, anyone have any questions or suggestions while I have an engineer right in front of me? I'm planning on asking about a marlinspike on a tool for boaters.

Keying off of your question, on a broader scope, it would be interesting to know whether or not they actually consider consumer input/suggestions as they design new models, and revise existing versions.

I met one of the leatherman engineers at a shot show a few years ago and he said that if you have an idea for improving a tool or something for a new tool to please send them an letter or an email. He went on that the engineering staff designs something cool and when management looks at it and says no it makes it much easier to change thier minds if the engineers show off a stack of emails requesting the improvement.
