I am new to the forum and have found the forum to be informative and interesting.

If you want to add a small pair of pliers to your kit you might want to consider a pair of ignition pliers. They are really small and light weight but are very strong.

I second your recommendation for the ignition pliers.

Instead of a Leatherman-type multitool for my EDC, I carry a SAK, a pair of Sears ignition pliers, and a very-small, flat, tapered-file. The total weight of the three is less than the Leatherman Wave I used to carry (5.2 oz versus 7.8 oz) and I feel it gives me bit more versatility (I can hold onto a nut with the pliers while I tighten a bolt with the screwdriver of the SAK, for example). Plus the pliers are very comfortable in my hand, something I couldn't always say about the Wave.

The ignition pliers were USD $8.99 at our local Sears store. You can see them at their website (www.sears.com). Do a search for the keyword "ignition pliers" or search for the part number 904513000.

Best regards,

Tom
