I have a few knives that have less than desirable sheaths. So, I ordered several sheets of Kydex plastic from Texas Knifemaker's supply along with "chicago screws". Armed with a heat gun, vise (any will do), two old face towels, a dremel and a drill, I made two first rate kydex sheaths in about two hours. Kydex is a wonderful material which can be molded and hand formed with heat. It's uses are limited only by the imagination. I suggest you hobbiest get some and play. Andy.

Andy, Thanks for the tip! Did you epoxy the chicago screws? These are very common in horse tack, as is their penchant for unthreading. Simple nail polish on the threads or locktite are good ideas.
