I got two small but visible chips in my mini-RSK shortly after I first got it. Sharpened them out on a small EZ-Lap diamond stone and no problems since. I find the mini a great little EDC. I also like the KaBar Dozier folding hunter (also a Doug recommended knife). Incredible buy for about $25, shipping included.

Re sharpening, I've never found anything as reliable and as easy to use as the Spyderco Sharpmaker. Solves 90 percent of my sharpening dilemmas, although every once in a while I run across a knife with really obtuse edge and need a coarse diamond stone to get 'em started toward the edge I want.
