Opinions, anyone? This caught my eye. It seems to have the niceties. The price isn't bad, either. Yeah, I am a gadget hound, held back only by my monthly car payments. Grin.

There is no compass or can opener. Pass. <img src="/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

Just kidding. What would you use this for? I doubt that you would need a TV in a BOB. This might be useful, for a shelter-in-place, but let's look at this for a second.

Do you really NEED a TV?

Yes, you need a light. But do you need a 10-pound light?

The emergency crank is nice, but you would break you arm trying to crank-run a TV.

You would be much better served by a combination of a crank flashlight and a crank Grundig radio. Smaller and lighter too.

I agree, this is not a BOB item but it is a vehicle item. When the kids get cranky....let then start cranking!

I've looked into this type.....Personally I think there is too much in the cost vs what you are getting.

Yes I believe that a TV is a necessity. I relied on it for A LOT of info during the hurricanes. The radio is a good source of info but I just think that the TV gave us much more than the radio did. BTW the radio and TV were simulcast broadcasting the EXACT same info. The TV was better in getting across to you.

The light......nice.....but an LED lantern gives more for less drain.

All of the components it has, I have separate....and it still is less bulky and more versatile.

Personally....I'd pass. I did.
