Anybody have any info on the 25 degree bag selling at County Comm? 25 Degree synthetic bag for $22.50. It may not be a Wiggy's or North Face, but if the quality is good, the price is definitely right.

Also has anybody examined the County Comm bug out bag?

Thanks

I have three of them, and we use them fairly frequently. They aren't bad at all. Light, comfortable. Don't get them wet, tho, not good wet at all.
Well worth the money.

I'm looking for a couple of inexpensive bags for Boy Scouts. They look like they would work for what I need. I know the degree rating on bags is not an exact science, but would you call these 25 degree bags?

I haven't tried the bail out bag from them, but I did get the new EOD Utility bag and am using it now for my everyday bug out bag in the office. Holds a lot of stuff and I like it.

Yep, I've got the Maxpedition Nucleus which is basically Countycomm's "Bail Out Bag," but made for a brief run by Maxpedition.

I didn't see it last time on Countycomm's site, but I did find something similar that Maxpedition is coming out with:

Wouldn't trade my Nucleus for anything, except maybe a winning Powerball ticket! <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Here are some pictures (although a bit dated, some stuff has changed):

That is my concern too. LINING: Poly-Cotton - IMO I'd never by an outdoor product w/ any cotton in it. For car camping where the stakes aren't to high fine but otherwise NO WAY.

I'm still learning the logistics of camping gear, but would a bivy bag combat the "don't get it wet" advice? I was looking at these as emergency gear if TSHTF, instead of a frequent use item. My family will be buying camping gear for this spring and summer for the first time, and for frequent use, the 20 degree bag would be overkill, but it might be a life saver in and emergency situation in the winter. The price is one reason I was so interested in these because I can justify (to myself) buying one for everyone in the family, even if they may never get used.

Do I need any special storage strategies to keep them from getting nasty?

I have one of the Bailout Bags in black.

Holds my 12 inch iBook nicely, along with AC adaptor and various cables and peripherals. I carry a Western Digital 40Gb portable hard drive in one of the magazine pockets.

I have some everyday "emergency" gear scattered in the other pockets.
