The Garrity FunTastik's are reuseable. Fair warning: this will take time! Buy or borrow some nail polish remover or some other acetone based product. Take a Q-Tip dipped in acetone and rub it into the crack's where it is glued together. This will be where the tube meets the LED assembly and where the threaded part of LED assembly & switch is located. Carefully work the tube bending it until you start to hear cracking. Hopefully the cracking will be the glue as it comes apart. Twist the threaded end holding the batteries until it unscrews. Take a Q-tip, pen, or whatever is handy and gently push on the LED until the LED assembly comes out of it's housing.

Wah-lah, reuseable led light for under $3. I've only done this to 2 so far. The first one came apart with out a hitch, the 2nd one the threaded piece would not fit back on properly. Couldn't figure out why, but it would just keep rotating. At least it's good for parts and another set of batteries.

Someone mentioned the Review from Flashlight review. It's a couple of years out of date.

The reason I bought these was for Astronomy purposes. The Red LED's are too bright for that use, but it's still useable in case of an emergency at night! Hmm now that I think about it I probably could get a less bright Red LED and put it in the stik.
