Best strategy seems to be make a list of stuff and order from one place, that way shipping doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Campmor has some good prices, as does REI and EMS in their sale/outlet areas. Northern Mountain Supply and Sierra Trading Post are a couple of good discount places. Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops has an extensive selection. And there's always TAD Gear and Countycomm for the neat stuff.
