HF- High Frequency
SW- Short-wave
VHF- Very High Frequency
UHF- Ultra High Frequency
AM- Amplitude Modulation
FM- Frequency Modulation
FRS- Family Radio Service
GMRS- General Mobile Radio Service
MURS- Multi-Use Radio Service
CB- Citizens Band
Ham- Amateur radio operator (not really an acronym)
CW- Continuous Wave (synonymous with radio Morse Code)
EAS- Emergency Alert System
SAME- Specific Area Message Encoding (NOAA EAS feature)
