What gallon size is your small Rubbermaid Action Packer? There are lots of them out there.

I have a CR-V and use this trunk organizer:

Trunk Organizer

I picked mine up at Target for about $20. It holds alot and the velcro strips on the bottom keep it from going anywhere. The top zips up (easy on the head), and I like the side pockets for shop rags, gloves, multitool--stuff I use on a regular basis.

Looks cool.

Does it also have room for jugs of coolant and windshield washer fluid, and plastic bottles of oil, etc.?

Do you keep any of these items in yours?

8 gallon

It seems someone else had a similar idea. I just found this link.

I think when I get things more to the way I want them, I'll post a picture of what I packed in there.

Thank you. Found one at REI: Rubbermaid Action Packer - 8 gallon

I think I need a "We Be Commuting!" kind of website. Doesn't have the same ring to it, though.

I keep the following in mine: 2 gallon gas can, 1 gallon bottle of wiper fluid, couple quarts of oil, 1 gallon of coolant, jumper cables, shaker siphon, a 2 quart water bottle, small lunchbox size survival kit, flashlight, insulated bibs and other misc. I think the bag's especially good for the price and like that it doesn't slide around and can be zippered up to look neat.

In the CR-V there's storage under the picnic table (!) where I keep a car charger/air compressor, a collapsible snow shovel, blanket, Fix-a-Flat, etc. I keep other items tucked in the various nooks and crannies around the car.

Picnic table? Did that come with the CR-V?

Yeah, the floor of the trunk area has a folding picnic/camp table that covers the wheel well area (the spare's hung on the tailgate). I can't imagine that many people actually use it or even know it's there, but it's fun to know it's there and I'm sure it'll get some camping use at some point.

Never hurts to learn a new skill, you may someday need to know how to cut some 2x4's and plywood to cover a hole in your house or something. Doesn't need to be craftsman quality, cover it with carpet and it will hide all the imperfections.
