Hmm, it looks like a neat backup tool, but not a primary EDC. I think the ad boys got the description wrong, as I don't see the magnesium alloy (they were probably erroneously referring to the ferrocerium rod insert). That they cut the cutting edge of the blade to use as the rod scraper will improve the efficiency of the sparking, but will wear on the blade at a potentially bad stress point. I would use it sparingly, preferring to keep it as a back up in case I am without one of my primary tools or some such. I agree it would make good barter.
