I was given one as a gift, except mine had an LED light instead of a fire steel. The blade was poor quality and the lock would not take any abuse of any type. The whistle is not very loud, and the LED light usually did not work. I "re-gifted" it to someone who thought it was "way cool". There is just too much quality kit out there to depend upon something like this. YMMV.
