Yes, but if you have it, you might use it on someone else's child. And you might be in a position to do 2-person CPR. And you get 21% O2 into the patient, not 16%. But yes, it does require training. But then again, so does most everything that we carry/discuss here. You and I, personally, are probably a little "spoiled" because of the training and experience that we get on the job. Others are not so lucky regarding training.

Consider carrying a small container of ear drops that contain a pain reducer. Depending upon where you reside, you may need a doctors prescription for this.

As anyone who has ever had an earache can attest, finding any kind of relief is great until you can get better medical attention.

This is something that can be used by older folks as well and until you have experienced the crying of an infant / small child with an earache, you can't really appreciate the peace that it can provide until you can get them to the doctor.

Consult your doctor regarding the use of this for your child before needing to use it, especially if there are any medical conditions or allergies to address. Hope this helps out.

Hospital has a CPR course for $80 but were close enough to the due date that we won't be able to take it until after he.s born.

Thanks everyone for the info, were going to go shopping this weekend and start getting some kit items.
If you didn't see my other reply, our son isn't born yet, the due date is now January 30th as the Dr. wants to induce early due to my wife having diabetes. Heres his current pictures:
