a hat with an all-around brim, with a wide braided band of 550

I'd be in for a boonie hat as well.

I would definitly get a boonie or this hat with the ETS logo. I vote for a boonie though.

hmm... an ETS logo boonie hat...I remember mentioning that when we discussed fund raising a few months back...

Maybe the idea will catch on this time

Not knowing setup costs and what not, I'm just going to throw this idea into the ring... what about both a ball cap style and a boonie style?

ball caps fit some people's style better and boonies fit other people's style better, so why not offer both?

FWIW, I'm in the big melon club too

Someone with more creative design ummpff could work on the ETS designed hat with special features too.

Although the boonie hat site that was posted offered their hats for $8.97, so add in a little for set up of the embroidery, and actually doing it, boost the price a bit, and ETS could receive a nice margin on something like that.

my two cents

Yet another member of the big melon club here too. Baseball cap style is okay so long as it fits well, but not snug (definitely 7 3/4). However, I too would much prefer the boonie hat. I'd get one of each if they were offered, but would probably pass if only the baseball cap is available.

I would buy one of each. I also have a large head. That seems to be a theme here. Could it be evolutionary? Bigger head for a bigger brain? After all, the brain is the most important survival tool....

I also like the hat with pockets.

Add another one on the Boonie count.

PS Anyone have a list to convert inches to hat size?

I'd be in for one of whatever is decided on, or one of each if both baseball- and boonie-style offered.

Here's a chart on The Hat Site with European, UK, Far East and U.S. sizes/conversions. Interesting to note, on average, largest heads belong to Germans. My big noggin must come from my Germany-born great grandparents.

I'd be in either way, the idea of an ETS boonie gives me a tickle!

Big melon-boonies would be my vote, to. Ball caps just don't work that well, IMHO-I need the hat so as to not distract aviators with false signal mirror flashes, but I also want something that will help keep my ears from turning into pork rinds.

Don't need it to have the paracord braid, that's easy enough for us to make, but a map pocket in the crown, now that would be very spiffy.
