How many of you would be interested in an Equipped to Survive Hat? I talked with Doug today about having some made as part of my fund raising for ETS Foundation. 100% of the profits would go directly to ETS. The hats would be Headsweats Podium embriodered by Headsweats with the Equipped to Survive logo. These hats rock, I have numerous Headsweat products and love 'em all! So who is in?

Not intending to be nasty, but they're just baseball caps, aren't they?
I'd rather see the ETS logo on a hat with an all-around brim, with a wide braided band of 550 that I could slide a few things underneath.
(What's with these ETS people?! They want everything to be just PERFECT!)

How about one of these? Scottevest Tec Hat ![](http://www.scottevest.com/v3_images/products/tec_hat_40_gray.gif) The ETS logo, to be frank, could use a little bit of an overhaul, but I think I'd buy one of these with it just to help out the cause. I wonder if they do special runs, because one of those seem more geared toward the PSK carry folks here.

I don't think I'd want the ETS logo or any other logo on my hat. I'm not into logos. I'd be interested in a custom designed ETS hat that had interesting features, along the lines of the ETS Photon flashlight, and the ETS Benchmade and ETS Sebenza knives. Wide brim, paracord, etc. sounds good.

I couldn't get away with wearing that on a daily basis where I live - maybe going hiking or camping, though. Not a bad idea having a specially designed hat, but I'm pretty sure that would take far longer to get setup than having some production hats emblazoned with a custom logo. They could always shrink the logo to a small (1.5" wide or less) on the back and leave the front blank.... I see those all the time.

First let me say that I think fundraising for ETS is very cool Romania.
Unfortunately, on this item I'm not interested. I believe it's too small to fit my great big size 7 3/4 melon.
Still, if they are made, I might buy one to help the cause.
Sorry.

Ditto on the 7-3/4" head for me...and I can comfortably wear one Ah, so there's no issue with size then... I'd order one in that case.

a hat with an all-around brim, with a wide braided band of 550 I'd be in for a boonie hat as well.

hmm... an ETS logo boonie hat...I remember mentioning that when we discussed fund raising a few months back...
Maybe the idea will catch on this time
Not knowing setup costs and what not, I'm just going to throw this idea into the ring... what about both a ball cap style and a boonie style?
ball caps fit some people's style better and boonies fit other people's style better, so why not offer both?
FWIW, I'm in the big melon club too
Someone with more creative design ummpff could work on the ETS designed hat with special features too.
Although the boonie hat site that was posted offered their hats for $8.97, so add in a little for set up of the embroidery, and actually doing it, boost the price a bit, and ETS could receive a nice margin on something like that.
my two cents

Yet another member of the big melon club here too. Baseball cap style is okay so long as it fits well, but not snug (definitely 7 3/4). However, I too would much prefer the boonie hat. I'd get one of each if they were offered, but would probably pass if only the baseball cap is available.

I would buy one of each. I also have a large head. That seems to be a theme here. Could it be evolutionary? Bigger head for a bigger brain? After all, the brain is the most important survival tool....
I also like the hat with pockets.

Add another one on the Boonie count.
PS Anyone have a list to convert inches to hat size?

I'd be in for one of whatever is decided on, or one of each if both baseball- and boonie-style offered. PS Anyone have a list to convert inches to hat size? Here's a chart on The Hat Site with European, UK, Far East and U.S. sizes/conversions. Interesting to note, on average, largest heads belong to Germans. My big noggin must come from my Germany-born great grandparents.

Big melon-boonies would be my vote, to. Ball caps just don't work that well, IMHO-I need the hat so as to not distract aviators with false signal mirror flashes, but I also want something that will help keep my ears from turning into pork rinds.
Don't need it to have the paracord braid, that's easy enough for us to make, but a map pocket in the crown, now that would be very spiffy.

I'd vote for a big-melon boonie too. I have to buy the largest Tilley size hat, so if it says "one size fits all", it won't fit me. I'm more of a wide brim guy. It keeps the sun out of my eyes, the rain off my glasses, and helps make my head look smaller Here is my next one: Tilley T3 in Olive Ken K.

I'd be happy to buy a white baseball hat with the ETS logo.

I vote boonie and I also have a huge melon...I never tried on a baseball cap that fit my head....nope never. The only way a baseball cap fits is with the plastric adjustable thingy "open" (not attached) what does that make me? 8" ? 8 + ?
Oh yeah...."one size fits all" never fits me in ANY style of hat.
Regards, Dreadnought

I notice that a lot of ETS people have supersized gourds. Could this be caused by the larger brains that some of us must have?

See my previous post. I believe it to be an evolutionary trait. We are predisposed to survive!

Either that or it's a fat head syndrome from overuse of the brain...how can I make my kit smaller, lighter, more useful and I'd like to get that new piece of gear I saw the other day, and what else could I use as tinder and...
