That's what we need, another debate!
Which knife is best? Which caliber is best? Which light is best? Which water container is best?
Now: Ginger or Mary Ann?

I agree. Lower maintenance, and made a great pie! Not much EDC, but I guess one cannot have everything!

Looks like the consensus is Mary Ann.
Now the next question to be answered is what was Mrs Howell's first name?
"Lovee" doesn't count as that was Mr. Howell's pet name for her....
Drat - got to say something on topic so Chris doesn't smack me and lock the thread...
Do you think the Skipper had Coast Guard approved rations stored properly on the Minnow in case of emergency? And frankly I don't remember seeing anyone but Gilligan wearing a life vest!
+++++++++++++
[color:"blue"] Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, A tale of a fateful trip That started from this tropic port Aboard this tiny ship. The mate was a mighty sailing man, The skipper brave and sure. Five passengers set sail that day For a three hour tour, a three hour tour. The weather started getting rough, The tiny ship was tossed, If not for the courage of the fearless crew The Minnow would be lost, the Minnow would be lost. The ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle With Gilligan The Skipper too, The millionaire and his wife, The movie star The professor and Mary Ann, Here on "Gilligan's Isle".
So this is the tale of the castaways, They're here for a long, long time, They'll have to make the best of things, It's an uphill climb. The first mate and the Skipper too, Will do their very best, To make the others comfortable, In the tropic island nest. No phone, no lights no motor cars, Not a single luxury, Like Robinson Crusoe, As primitive as can be. So join us here each week my friends, You're sure to get a smile, From seven stranded castaways, Here on "Gilligan's Isle."
+++++++++++++
I think it is past my bed-time.... Ben

"Hey, she could have show up!"
Why not -- everyone else on earth did.
I just googled the characters, & Natalie Schaefer was simply listed in both places as "Mrs. Lovey Howell". Maybe it wasn't just a nickname. Or, maybe it was like the Bible, where many of the women didn't have names, like Lot's wife. She was just.... Lot's wife. Still attached at the rib, I guess.

Ooh, I dunno. I suspect if it were me stuck on that island with three other guys and only two available females, there'd probably be some accidents and the male to female ratio would move quickly into my favor. I guess I could leave the Howell's alone, as I wouldn't really consider him much competition, but sooner or later both Mary Ann and Ginger are gonna wind up in my hut.

My vote goes to Maryann, Ginger'd be too high maintenance, plus, you don't know for sure what's under all that facepaint

Gillgan was the original control agent and the castaways were being used as guinea pigs for what would later develop into "Project Lost". Both were experiments devised to learn how one might control people from different walks of life by putting various manufactured pressures on them.
Was Giiligan really that stupid, stupid enough to foil so many attempts at rescue/eascape? I don't think so... He was a genius, purely and simply a devious diabolical genius.
He briefly allowed the castaways to be "rescued" only to return them all to the island so he could observe whether or not a robot army he was tinkering with would be sufficient enough to take over the world quickly by force if the outcome of his experiments weren't satisfactory.
Yes, the Harlem Globetrotters saved the rest of us from enslavement by Gilligan and his robots...
When it was determined that the "Castaway Project" was a failure and that an occupational force would not work he knew what must be done. Though the Castaways had their differences, they essentially could work with one another to make coconut cream pies and washing machines.
This was easily remedied for "Project Lost".
Errrr... Ummmm... Nevermind. LOL

Ginger's always been my Gal! (Along with Peggy Fleming, Fergie, Condi Rice, 99 on Get Smart, Petula Clark, Jackie DeShannon, Juice Newton, Bobbie Gentry-and perhaps a dozen other Good Names which don't come to mind right now!). Elvira and Catwoman too! [color:"black"] Geezer

Oh Yeah!, -Bat Girl, Diana Rigg, and whoever Yvonne DeCarlo plays on the Munsters. Though Batgirl is halfway to the "merely" OK department. And Oh Yeah!, -Barbra Eden and Jeannie! And lets add Angie Dickenson of Police Story.
I also Like and Love a Gal or Two or Three I've seen on the Original Star Trek ! Like the one who told DeSalle that he's French. Hawaii 50 and Barnaby Jones also had some Really Good Looking Gals on em too!
And lets Not Forget Mary Tyler Moore! On both of her well known shows. Rhoda's not too bad either! And Marlo Thomas of That Girl or anywhere else! I am too unfamiliar with Meredith McRae to make comment.
If I were to have a Dream Harem, -or "Polygamous Multi-Wives"-All that I mentioned in both my posts here, -would be among them!

Both greedy and dumb. Remember - you want to MAXIMIZE your possiblity of survival. Give the Professor the one he wants - you get the other. Everyone else is expendable.

Mary Ann by a mile. I also loved how often the radio was cannibalized for parts by the professor. He was great!
Anyone remember Hart v.s. Hart? Stephanie Powers - excuse me, I need to turn my pacemaker up a notch...

This may be wandering a bit into OT land, -but between the two, -Who you you like as the Better Skipper? McHale of McHale's Navy, -or the Skipper of Gilligan's Fame?
I like and enjoy Good Ole McHale and all his doings, a good bit, -but the Skipper is the one who gets my vote!
Don't vote on who is neccessarily the Better Captain or Seaman. But solely on who you more prefer and Like, -if you wish. [color:"black"] sodak

Well at least with McHale there was always some booze around. In virtually all polls Mary Ann wins.
